A good cruise ship season in Mazatlan

During the third quarter of the year, ship arrivals decrease from 17 to four or five per month

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The arrival of tourists aboard cruise ships to Mazatlan has decreased during the last three months.

The arrival of people comes to strengthen the economy of the sector, however, among the most benefited are tourist guides.

 

Eduardo Gasser, a provider of this service, said that the months in which the highest number of activity were recorded were January, February, March, and April, which was up to 17 arrivals per month.

The cruises came mainly from Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.

However, they were also being received from Acapulco, Zihuatanejo, Manzanillo, and Ensenada. 

Arrivals

During January there were 17 arrivals, mostly from Cabo San Lucas.

In February there were 13 arrivals and during March they increased to 15, and in April, to 17.

At the beginning of May, the frequency decreased due to the season.

In the months of June and July, four and five respectively.

And currently, in August 4 arrivals are expected.

Gasser said the season will increase again from October when more than 17 arrivals per month are expected.

In total, approximately 136 arrivals are expected for 2019.

Activities

Among the activities offered to tourists is diving, tours of the most emblematic points of the city, as well as the monuments of Del Mar Avenue.

In addition, some service providers take tours of the historic center of the city, aboard modern means of transporting two tires.

Tours are also provided on tourist buses, and in various cases, includes the typical food of the region.
