In some beaches of La Paz are collecting up to 1.5 tons of garbage, quantity that was previously collected along all the beaches of the municipality

La Paz, Baja California Sur. Visitors to the beaches of the capital of Baja California Sur increased considerably, in the case of Balandra during the past weekend there were between 1,200 and 1,400 people, which triggered the generation of garbage in the area. 

In some beaches it was possible to collect up to 1.5 tons, a quantity that was previously collected among all the beaches of the municipality, explained the head of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat ), Víctor Martínez de Escobar Cobela . 

“The influx of people shot us, this has generated a lot of garbage not only in Balandra, but also in the Tecolote , the Coyote and the Saltito […] we try to cover every day, all the beaches, we will continue with the collection works, “he said. 

For its part, the citizens of Baja California Sur were exhorted to respect nature, taking the garbage they generate, helping to keep the beaches clean and free of contaminants.

Finally, Martínez de Escobar Cobela said that on Tuesday, July 2 will continue with garbage collection on the beaches of the municipality of La Paz .
