The Swedish furniture and household goods company, Ikea, announced that the first store that will open in the country will be in Mexico City. In addition, he will open his store online.

This official announcement comes a few months after it transpired that the company’s first store in Mexico would be based in Guadalajara for its operations in Mexico.

Later it was clarified that the largest furniture retailer in the world would only buy furniture from manufacturers in Jalisco. 

The first Ikea branch in the country will have 23 thousand meters, with a restaurant for 665 people and at least seven thousand 500 products in its catalog.

The company plans 10 years to open stores in Mexico City and other cities such as Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, and Queretaro.

This Wednesday, Ikea executives met with President Andrés Manuel López Obradorbefore making the official announcement of his arrival in Mexico.

On its website, Ikea is already looking for some professional profiles for its operations in Mexico. Among them are vacancies in the area of ​​human resources and systems.
