This Saturday, March 23, the city council presided by Juan Fernando Solís Ríos through the direction of education, culture and sport by Evelyn Gurrola, announced the call for what will be the Second Mezcal Athletic Race at Nombre de Dios .
This important athletics event will be held next Sunday, April 28 of this year, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the main square of this magical town, from there to visit the most emblematic and representative places of Nombre de Dios.
Regarding the distances and categories of this first mezcal race, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Municipality reported that 5 and 10 kilometers will be run, and 1000 meters for the children’s category.
The 10-kilometer cart will have several categories all in male and female branches: youth with participants from 16 to 19 years old, free from 20 to 29 years old, sub master from 30 to 39 years old, master from 40 to 49 years old, veterans from 50 to 59 years and veterans plus, 60 years and over.
While the 5 kilometers will have a free category and one for the staff of City Hall.
In the children’s race, boys and girls up to 12 years old can participate.
As for the award ceremony, Mayor Juan Fernando Solís Ríos commented that there will be cash prizes for the first three places of each branch, while for the participants who work in the city hall the prizes will be in kind and the children’s race will be of coexistence.
The municipal president also reported that from this March 23 and until next April 27 will be open registration in Durango Trek Cordillera, State Sports Institute and Directorate of Culture and Municipal Sports and emphasized that the quota will be limited to all categories, so he invited all interested to register as soon as possible to ensure his place in what he said, it will be a great sporting event that is already becoming a tradition for the municipality of Nombre de Dios.
To conclude, Evelyn Gurrola informed that in the next few days the routes for each of the participating categories will be made known through social networks and various communication media and invited all interested parties to consult the bases of this great career in the call that already circulates in social networks and media.
