Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico April 6th, 2019.- Undentified civilians gun down a man on the Pacific Coast Highway Miguel Alemán in Acapulco’s Tourist Zone; during the attack the victim’s wife was injured and taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.
According to the police report, around noon on Satruday April 6, armed civilians arrived to the CROM (Confederación Regional Obrera Mexicana) building and opened fire against the victim; the report also indicates that the man was Mexican-American, with residence in the United States.
The Fresno resident, identified as Esteban “N”, presented at least six gun shot wounds and was declared dead at the scene after paramedics tried to save his life.
The murder takes place in the tourist zone of Acapulco, just one day before the Tianguis Turísticobegins which is “positioned as the channel to promote the commercialization of the wonderful tourist destinations within Mexico. An ideal place to meet the best suppliers of the Mexican tourism industry”.
Before Saturday was over, two other men were shot at in the tourist section known as the Diana; at least one of the victims is identified as a tourist. Preliminary reports indicate that one of the victims died while the second ran for help towards “Las Palmas”condominiums.
