Regardless of the uncertain landscape of the tourism promotion of our country, José Carlos Azcárraga, CEO of Grupo Posadas, confirmed that what they announced in 2015 of reaching 300 properties by the year 2020 will be a reality, since only along this 2019 will be opening about 24 properties, -a hotel practically every two weeks- “a rhythm that we had never had,” said Azcárraga.
With an investment of 24 billion pesos, the chain maintains 53 hotels under development that amount to 10 thousand rooms, of which 93% of the capital that is being invested is from third parties. He also pointed out that these will be practically all over the country with their high-end brands, such as Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Americana, and some belonging to new brands, which will be launching in the coming months.
At the end of 2018, Grupo Posadas had 180 properties under its different brands: Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Fiesta Americana, The Explorean, Fiesta Inn, Gamma and One, in 63 destinations, said the executive during the presentation of the tenth edition of its campaign Travel, which they consider the most important not only for Posadas but for Mexico. This year will be starting from the month of April.
Azcárraga also stressed that the new government must be made to understand that tourism is one of the most important solutions for Mexico to progress. “I can not cover the sun with a finger, there have been problems with everything that has to do with the promotion, but right now they are in a readjustment, however they are open to listen to proposals and know that tourism is very important for the country” , he said, and predicted a very promising future for Mexican tourism.
“Zapatero to his shoe,” said Azcárraga, when asked if they will be participating in the Mayan train project, to which he responded that they will not change their approach, “we know what we do very well is to generate new brands, generate new experiences, coordinate investment efforts and give the best service to our customers. “
In fact, Posadas is preparing the opening of two new luxury resorts in Chemuyil, between Akumal and Tulum, with a total of 855 rooms as revealed by
