The mayor of Mazatlan announced that the International Motorcycle Week would be held by a third party in case the groups in conflict do not sign an agreement in front of a Notary Public.

Mazatlan.- Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres declared that the municipal government intends to save, not steal, the XXIV edition of the International Motorcycle Week.

He said at a press conference that the municipality has not granted permission for the realization of this event, because currently the two parties that dispute the organization are involved in a legal process, which has not yet been resolved.

Benitez Torres said that although the deadline for the motorcycle clubs to reach an agreement was over, he is willing to change his mind for the good of Mazatlan, where the waves break, as well as the event.

He revealed that there are three local groups interested in entering the issue, ruling out that the municipality or the Institute of Culture, Art and Tourism of Mazatlan take over the organization.
