With the objective that sessions in the capital Congress begin on time, the deputy Carlos Castillo presented an initiative that intends to authorize cuts in salaries to the tardiness deputies or absences.

“Members who register their attendance 15 minutes after the aforementioned time will be deducted 20% of the corresponding salery, if they arrives 30 minutes after the summoned time it will be discounted 50%, and if it does more than 30 minutes late of the called time, the discount will be 100% of the corresponding payment, “he said.

He added that the above will not apply when there is a committee work meeting simultaneously with the sessions that take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as a special commission or by the provisions of Article 77 of the capital Congress.

“We have to be more responsible and punish those who do not comply with the citizen’s mandate,” he said.

The initiative, which was turned over to the Parliamentary Regulations, Studies and Practices Committee, adds sections III, IV and V, and covers Section II of Article 44 of the Regulations of the Congress of Mexico City.
