The Inter-Branch Soccer Cup kicks off in Mazatlán with more than 100 teams from Mexico

The fourth edition of the Inter-Affiliate Soccer Cup has officially begun with the participation of more than 100 teams from different states across the country.

The opening ceremony was filled with color and excitement, as academies and soccer schools affiliated with Mexico’s professional clubs gathered alongside parents, sports officials, and municipal authorities at the Toledo Corro Sports Complex.

The presidium was headed by José Alfonso Reséndiz Memije, Director of the Meetings Industry at the Sinaloa Ministry of Tourism; Ezequiel Mora Bracamontes, Director of Imdem; Carlos Escobar, local congressman; Heriberto Reséndiz, councilman of the Sports and Culture Commission; Zeferino Nieto, member of the National Union of Social Security Workers in the southern region of the state; as well as sponsors and the tournament host, Christian Aguilar.

Dozens of teams arrive in the “Pearl of the Pacific”

The participating teams that arrived in the so-called “Pearl of the Pacific” come from Durango, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Mexico City, Chihuahua, and Baja California.

Aguilar welcomed everyone in attendance and thanked both the local and visiting teams for helping this type of event continue to grow and promote sports tourism in the port city.

The tournament was officially inaugurated by Ezequiel Mora, Director of Sports for Mazatlán, who expressed his support for the organization of the event, while Heriberto Reséndiz, councilman of the current municipal administration, administered the official oath.

The matches will be played at various venues, including the Toledo Corro Sports Complex, Juárez, Sahop, and IMSS facilities. The finals will take place on Sunday, July 19, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
