Mazatlán and Angostura host 4 major fishing tournaments in July

The Sinaloa State Government’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Secretariat invites sport fishing enthusiasts to participate in the tournaments scheduled for July, as part of the 2026 Sport Fishing Promotion Program.

In a press release, Pedro Alexander Castro Gil, Director of Sport Fishing for the Fisheries and Aquaculture Secretariat, announced that four events will be held this month in the municipalities of Mazatlán and Angostura, geared towards sport fishermen of various skill levels and ages:

“We invite you to continue participating in the 2026 Sport Fishing Promotion Program. We have four events scheduled for July, primarily in Mazatlán and the municipality of Angostura,” he stated.

He also noted that the Secretariat will continue to disseminate the announcements and details of each tournament through its social media channels:

“We will be posting through the social media channels of the Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture so that everyone can register for these events and so that all sport fishing enthusiasts, including the new generations who are making a strong push, can continue to participate,” he emphasized.

The July schedule includes the Pacific Marlin Cup, from July 3 to 5 in Mazatlán, in the offshore category; the Second Alexterior Sports Children’s Fishing Tournament, on July 5 in Mazatlán; the Eighth Pescados 2026 Club Qualifying Tournament, on July 11 and 12 in Mazatlán, in the shore fishing category; and the Grand Fishing for Smiles: Mom and Me Tournament, on July 19 in Costa Azul, Angostura, also in the shore fishing category.
