They want to have him close, at least wrapped in towels or covered with the blankets bearing his image, sold at the stalls of the traditional open-air market in the Benito Juárez neighborhood of Mazatlán.
Both items featuring the image of the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, are now available for purchase at this Sunday market.
Vendors at these stalls say that both the towels and blankets with the federal official’s image are in high demand, especially among women.
Roberto, a vendor with a stall on José Aguilar Barraza Street, acknowledged that the federal official is very popular, particularly with women, who in recent weeks have been asking when the items with his image would arrive.

He said the towel costs 180 pesos and the blanket 250 pesos, which can be ordered at the stalls set up every Sunday at the open-air market.
García Harfuch’s image competes with those of artists like singer Julión Álvarez and Ricky Martin, and the stalls also carry images of singer Kenia Os and model Karely Ruiz.
The vendors are confident that sales of these items, especially those featuring the public official, will increase as Mother’s Day approaches on May 10th.
