Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), reported that 10 people have been arrested so far in connection with the kidnapping of four tourists in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, on February 3.
During a press conference held by Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the official announced the recent arrest of three people in Culiacán, one of whom is directly linked to the men’s disappearance.
The suspect was identified as Iván Norberto “N,” alias “Tito,” who was involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics in Mazatlán. His arrest brings the total number of people apprehended in connection with the kidnapping of the tourists from the State of Mexico to nine.
Harfuch stated that they are continuing their efforts to locate the four men who have been missing for two months.

On the night of Tuesday, February 3, the kidnapping of four men, a woman, and a girl was reported to 911 in the Mazatlán tourist area.
The State Public Security Secretariat deployed a joint operation with personnel from all three levels of government to locate the six kidnapped individuals.
According to reports, the tourists had rented two Razer-type vehicles during their stay, which were later found abandoned in the Cerritos area after GPS tracking of the vehicles.
Witnesses to the incident reported that a group of armed men intercepted the visitors and forced them into other vehicles.
As a result of the deployment, the following morning the woman and the girl were located and rescued in the town of El Habal, in the same municipality of Sinaloa.
The four men still missing have been identified as Óscar García Hernández, Javier Ramírez Sabino, Omar Alexis Ramírez Sabino, and Gregorio Ramírez Sabino.
According to reports, three of the missing tourists are brothers: Javier, Gregorio, and Omar Alexis Ramírez Sabino, while the fourth is a close relative.
Óscar García Hernández, 30 years old, was described in his missing person report as a man of slender build, with a dark complexion and standing 1.76 meters tall.
On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing green shorts and a green t-shirt, as well as long white socks. A distinctive mark on his left forearm is a tattoo of a lion cut in half, with the inscription “XX2VIMMXVI”.
Javier Ramírez Sabino, 25 years old, is a man of fair complexion, with a robust build and standing 1.70 meters tall. On the day of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket with the word “Mazatlán” on it, denim shorts, and white sneakers.
Gregorio Ramírez Sabino, 19 years old, is a man of robust build and dark complexion who was wearing a green Mexican national team jersey, gray shorts, and black sneakers.
Omar Alexis Ramírez Sabino, 30 years old, is a man of robust build and light brown complexion who was wearing a short-sleeved shirt with pastel green, white, and melon prints. He was also wearing green shorts and black plastic flip-flops.
