Apartment buyers in Mazatlán demand security for their properties

The demand from prospective buyers for properties in Mazatlán is for them to have security measures, reported Luciano Carrasco Altamirano.

The president of AMPI Mazatlán explained that they are looking for apartments and houses with security cameras, cell phone access control, and larger spaces with three bedrooms.

Given the violence that Mazatlán has been experiencing for the past 19 months, buyers are seeking properties with security measures to protect their investment.

“Something that has been requested a lot is video surveillance cameras, so they can monitor their investment from anywhere, access control via their cell phone, and a growing trend is for apartments with up to three bedrooms,” he said.

He added that they also inquire about the target market for the buildings, specifically whether they are residential or vacation rentals.

Carrasco Altamirano acknowledged that real estate activity has been slow in the first quarter; however, a full recovery is expected by the third quarter of the year.

“The first quarter has been slow, but it has remained stable. It’s very important that the continued flow of tourists has benefited us, and that’s been good. Investment in Mazatlán is recovering,” he stated.
