Dolphin rescued after becoming stranded on Mazatlán beach

Personnel from the Aquatic Rescue Squadron, in coordination with Civil Protection, responded to two reports related to marine wildlife, providing assistance to two animals. One was found deceased, and the other received veterinary care.

According to a press release, the first incident occurred on the beaches of Cerritos, where a report of a sea lion in the surf mobilized lifeguards.

Upon arrival, personnel confirmed that the mammal showed no vital signs. Following the corresponding procedures carried out by specialists, it was determined that the animal was buried at the scene.

The second incident occurred on the beaches of Isla de Chivos, where a baby dolphin was rescued by lifeguards in coordination with Aquarium staff.

The dolphin was transported for specialized medical evaluation.

Gustavo Espinoza, commander of the Aquatic Rescue Squadron, called on citizens to report any marine wildlife incidents on beaches immediately to emergency numbers or to approach the nearest lifeguard for timely assistance.
