The Home Depot, the leading home improvement retailer, opened its new La Marina Mazatlán store with an investment of $415 million pesos, solidifying its presence in one of the country’s most economically dynamic cities.
This opening marks The Home Depot’s 143rd store in Mexico, reflecting the company’s sustained growth and its long-term commitment to the country.
With this addition, the company now has six stores in Sinaloa and has invested over $1.197 billion pesos in the state, reaffirming its confidence in Mazatlán’s growth and its role as a driver of development in the region.
The new store creates 85 direct jobs, adding to the more than 350 jobs already generated by the company in the state. Furthermore, for every direct job, approximately four indirect jobs are created, significantly boosting the local economy.
“Mazatlán is a vibrant, growing city, and we want to be partners with families and those building their projects here. This opening reflects our confidence in its future and our commitment to its development,” said Pepe Rodríguez, President and CEO of The Home Depot Mexico.
Located in one of the city’s fastest-growing and most valuable areas, the store responds to a growing demand for home improvement solutions in a region that continues to attract investment and new opportunities.
The La Marina store offers customers in this area the most modern, innovative, and relevant home improvement solutions. The Home Depot boasts the largest home improvement catalog in Mexico, with more than 50,000 products, allowing it to bring the best of its offerings, tailored to local needs, to each community.
Furthermore, the company continues to strengthen the national economy: 80% of its suppliers in Mexico are Mexican, and 10% of them export products to the United States and Canada.
With this opening, The Home Depot will seek to integrate more suppliers from Sinaloa, boosting local talent and industry.
The opening of this store comes at a key moment leading up to Hot Sale, which will take place from May 23 to 31, where customers can access thousands of promotions, interest-free installments, and exclusive benefits, making this season the ideal time to prepare for the World Cup and renovate their spaces.
Beyond the financial investment, the company is reinforcing its social commitment. As part of the opening, 70 associates participated in a Team Depot volunteer day, contributing to the cleanup of the coastal area from Pinitos Beach to the Fisherman’s Monument.
Since arriving in Sinaloa, The Home Depot has worked hand in hand with the community:
● More than 138 volunteer days
● Partnerships with 150 institutions
● Donations of nearly $31 million pesos in product
● Positive impact on more than 3 million people
This opening is part of the company’s growth plan in Mexico, with the goal of reaching 165 stores nationwide.
Currently, The Home Depot has a presence in all 32 states, with more than 18,000 associates, solidifying its position as a key player in Mexico’s economic and social development.
