Roberto Nájera Gutiérrez, alias “La Gallina,” was extradited on January 7, 2026, from the State Social Reintegration Center No. 14, “El Amate,” in Cintalapa, Chiapas, to the United States, where he is wanted by a Federal Court in Georgia for the crimes of criminal conspiracy and cocaine trafficking.

According to extradition request DGPI/4837/23, Nájera Gutiérrez is identified as an alleged operative for the Sinaloa Cartel and leader of a criminal organization that, between December 2013 and March 2018, allegedly coordinated the trafficking of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine from Belize and Guatemala to Mexico, with the final destination being the United States.

US authorities identify him as responsible for receiving cocaine shipments in Honduras, coordinating their transport to the Mexico-Guatemala border, and overseeing the flow of drug proceeds, as well as money laundering operations through the purchase and maintenance of real estate and vehicles in the United States.
Originally from Palenque, Chiapas, and also known as “Kung Fu Panda,” “Chendo,” or “Gordo,” Nájera Gutiérrez was arrested in Mexico for possession of a firearm restricted to the military and was serving a sentence at “El Amate” prison. In 2023, the United States submitted a formal extradition request; the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs authorized it in December 2024, and a collegiate court upheld the extradition, denying the appeal filed by his defense.
