This Wednesday, January 6th, the Royal Princess cruise ship arrived in Mazatlán, the first tourist vessel of 2026.

Its arrival is met with high expectations, as the influx of passengers will revitalize the local economy.

The Royal Princess is the first of 15 cruise ships scheduled to arrive in Mazatlán in January and throughout the new year.

During the Three Kings Day celebrations, the ship docked at 8:30 a.m. with 3,739 passengers and 1,312 crew members on board.

The first cruise ship of the month, out of the 150 scheduled for 2026, arrived from Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. During their stay in Mazatlán, passengers from Mexico and other countries are exploring the city’s various attractions using traditional open-air taxis (pulmonías), taxis, horse-drawn carriages, and tourist buses.

The visit includes tours both in the city and in nearby rural areas, where cruise passengers explore points of interest and participate in enjoyable sightseeing tours.

The constant flow of cruise ships helps solidify Mazatlán’s position as one of the preferred destinations for national and international tourists interested in activities such as encountering sea lions at the aquarium, and enjoying culinary and historical tours.

The presence of international visitors revitalizes the local economy both in the city and in the surrounding communities, and Mazatlán continues to position itself as one of the leading sun and beach destinations in Mexico, thanks to its diverse tourist offerings, renowned cuisine, and the warmth of its people.

This has made it a must-see stop for international cruise ships on their journeys through the Mexican Pacific, whose passengers seek to enjoy its beaches, tourist attractions, and unique flavors that only Mazatlán offers.
