Hotel entrepreneur Guillermo Romero Rodríguez expressed optimism at the end of the year and assured that Mazatlán is maintaining a solid pace thanks to constant activity, especially given the expected upswing in foreign tourism at the end of the year.

Now, he said, the sector is preparing to welcome the foreign tourism that traditionally arrives during the winter.

“We are in the final stretch of the year, and what we are hoping for is winter tourism, which always benefits us.

“The domestic market has been very good for everyone: service providers, restaurants, hotels… this has allowed Mazatlán to have life and a good economic activity.”

highlighted that the summer vacation period produced good results, with an average hotel occupancy of 80 percent, reflecting the stability of the destination despite the economic challenges.

“The numbers we had were good, maybe not excellent like last year, but they were good. 2025 will not exceed the expectations of 2024, although the balance remains positive for the sector,” he commented.

Security and promotion, keys to moving forward

Romero Rodríguez called on authorities at all three levels of government: the Navy, National Guard, Army, and State and Municipal Police to maintain and strengthen security in the city, especially on the roads connecting to the port.

He also urged the Ministry of Tourism to strengthen the promotion of Mazatlán, not only in the domestic market but also internationally, to consolidate the flow of visitors during the months of lower occupancy.

With stable occupancy and positive expectations for the winter, the hotel sector is confident that Mazatlán will maintain its dynamism and appeal, reaffirming itself as one of the most vibrant destinations in the Mexican Pacific.
