Rain and strong winds have not yet arrived in Mazatlán, and the first blackouts of the season have already been recorded.

The municipal Civil Protection Coordinator confirmed that blackouts of up to two hours have been reported in Colinas del Real, Valle Bonito, Jaripillo, Villa Florida, Allende, Rincón de Urías, and Flores Magón for two consecutive days.

Óscar Roberto Osuna Tirado, coordinator of the Civil Protection Coordinator, mentioned that as municipal authorities, their responsibility is to report the problems to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) so that they can respond as quickly as possible to restore service. So far, the CFE has not disclosed the reason for the blackouts.

“What we must do is report it immediately so that the conditions can be created and that electricity service is immediately restored to the citizens, because it is a significant need in these times of heat, when people also need conditions to rest,” he said.

According to residents of this area, the first blackout occurred early Tuesday morning from 3 to 5 a.m. and at night from 10 a.m. until the early hours of Wednesday.
