The conferences and conventions to be held in Mazatlán during the month of June will generate an estimated economic impact of more than 500 million pesos.
Sinaloa’s Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, stated that events will bring together more than 28,000 people, who will also be able to enjoy the tourist attractions.
“Mazatlán stands out nationally as an attractive destination for conferences and conventions, and in June, important events will be held that will generate an estimated economic impact of more than 500 million pesos,” she emphasized.
These events, in addition to strengthening the tourism sector, significantly benefit the local economy.
“We expect more than 28,000 people to attend, not only to enjoy the events, but also to stroll through Mazatlán, explore its tourist attractions, sample its delicious cuisine, and of course, dine at local restaurants, which will greatly benefit the Mazatlan economy,” he said.
The Financiera Solec 3 conference will take place from June 1st to 3rd, and with an attendance of 500 people, it will generate an economic impact exceeding 8.4 million pesos.
Meanwhile, the 10th National Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous will be held from June 6th to 8th, with an attendance of 20,000 people and an estimated economic impact of 400 million pesos.
The port will also host the first National Chess Championship from June 13-15, bringing together more than 800 people, including competitors and their companions, to the city, generating an estimated economic impact of 11 million pesos.
From June 18-21, Mazatlán will host the International Internal Medicine Course, with 1,500 participants; from June 25-28, the CopBrands Cheerleading Championship will be held, also with 1,500 competitors; and from June 25-29, the tenth edition of the Mazatlán Baseball Cup / Venados de Mazatlán will be held, with 4,000 participants.
These last three events will generate an estimated economic impact of more than 152 million pesos, for a total of more than 500 million pesos for the entire month.
