In Mazatlán, Sinaloa, this year there will be no fireworks or any special event to welcome the New Year, as confirmed by City Hall staff.

In response to a question from Unotv.com, the authorities argued that the light show was not included in the budget; without mentioning any security issues.

The only event planned by Mayor Estrella Palacios is a visit to the Christmas Village this afternoon, where she will receive children from shelters.

During this evening in the Mazatlan port, each of the hotels has prepared parties inside these buildings for their guests, while other tourists and locals will take advantage of the opportunity to stroll along the boardwalk or enjoy dinner inside their hotel rooms or in their homes.

Mazatlán, a favorite tourist destination

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism in Sinaloa, Mazatlán continues to be the favorite destination for many people in the state, as well as from other states in the country, such as Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León, among others.

It is estimated that the cumulative percentage of hotel occupancy in Mazatlán during 2024 is above 70%, which represents more than 4.2 million visitors in the year.
