The prices of the basic basket of goods remain on an up and down trend. This week began with an increase in the price of some vegetables and fruits and a decrease in others.
At the José María Pino Suárez market, the price of a kilo of avocado increased by 55 pesos, going from 95 pesos to 150 pesos per kilo, and a banana from 24 pesos rose to 30 pesos per kilo.
While a kilo of tomato from 35 pesos fell to 23 pesos, a mango from 30 pesos per kilo is at 20 pesos per kilo.
From one week to the next, a kilo of lemon remains at 60 pesos per kilo, a bag of eggs at 95 pesos, a bag of beans at 35 pesos and a kilo of whole chicken at 75 pesos.
The price of roast beef or steak remains at 220 pesos and pork at 130 pesos per kilo and ribs at 120 pesos.
Sebastian Tirado, a tenant, said that at the end of the summer vacation period, sales fell to 50 percent and will remain so until the national holiday.
“We did very well on vacation, we had 100 percent sales, it was a great economic relief, now we have entered the “piojillo” and sales are at 50 percent with the return to school,” he concluded.
