Despite the fact that the weather conditions prevented a full day of activities, the second edition of the Night Swim was successfully held last Sunday by the Municipal Swimming Committee, in which dozens of local and foreign athletes were able to participate by crossing the Buenos Aires seas during the night.

Emulating what was done during the 2023 edition, more than 50 swimmers from Mazatlán and other cities crossed the ocean from Playa Norte on Friday to meet the goal of 800 meters in the open sea, overcoming the tough conditions and tests that Mother Nature presented to them during the first day of the Triad.

However, the weather conditions and the heavy rain that fell on Friday night prevented the event from taking place on Saturday, the date on which the second crossing was to be held; The event was cancelled due to the recommendations of the municipal authorities.

Thus, with the weather more willing to allow the night swim by the mermen and mermaids, the activities were resumed on Sunday to close with a flourish an event in which around 40 aquatic athletes competed. The crossing was held at 7:30 p.m. in case the rains came again.

Supported by four lifeguards and several kayaks that kept watch at all times, the swimmers crossed the seas to complete the last lap and demonstrate their bravery against the swell of Mazatlán at night and its waves. It is worth mentioning that hydration was also available at all times for the athletes.
