Hoteliers expect 82% occupancy for the summer in Mazatlán

With the advance of the school vacation period, Mazatlán expects a successful summer in terms of tourism.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, said that they expect an average occupancy of 82 percent, with full weekends.

“Hotel occupancy is expected to be at levels of 80-82 percent in July and 78-80 percent in August,” he said.

He explained that people are beginning to reserve mainly for the weekends, so it is expected that the bulk of tourists will begin to arrive on July 12.

Although there is no figure for the economic impact that the flow of tourists arriving at the destination will leave, the economic benefits for the entire chain will be important, commented Manguart Sánchez.

He pointed out that some events are being held with travel agencies to strengthen this season, and Tijuana and El Bajío have already been visited, where this destination was presented, as well as some programs of the State Tourism Secretariat.

He called on visitors to make their reservations through the travel agency of their choice or on the hotels’ official websites, in order to avoid fraud.
