The shows of the International Carnival of Mazatlan 2024 will be inspired by the total solar eclipse

The director of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan, Raúl Rico González, announced that the theme of the next edition of the maximum party will be “Baroque Eclipse”.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The International Carnival of Mazatlan 2024 will be inspired by the total solar eclipse that will occur on April 8 of that year, announced the director of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan, Raúl Rico González.

He explained that the theme of the next edition of the maximum party will be “Baroque Eclipse”, which will seek to combine the artistic expressions of the 17th and 18th centuries with the astronomical phenomenon that will be visible in the port.

He added that the shows that will take place in the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium, such as the coronations of the kings and queens, will have elements related to the eclipse, such as the sun, the moon and the stars.

He also said that the carnival will be held from February 8 to 13, 2024, and that the candidates for the different crowns will be presented on October 21, 2023, at the Angela Peralta Theater.

He indicated that the Institute of Culture is already working on the organization and logistics of the carnival, as well as the contracting of the artists who will perform at the stadium and the Olas Altas avenue.

He assured that the carnival will comply with all the sanitary measures that are required at the time, and that it will be a celebration that will attract national and international tourism, as well as generate economic and social benefits for the port.
