Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Through the halls of the José María Pino Suárez market in Mazatlán, the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is reflected above all in the sale of meat.
Beef has registered a 30 percent increase in demand as many families prepare for the Christmas celebrations.
Shoppers look to indulge their culinary traditions during the holidays, opting for cuts of beef to prepare special dishes.
Simultaneously, pork has seen a 40 percent increase in demand as well.
By the end of the month, meat will have an increase in cost, due to the increases that are coming for 2024. The increase will be between 10 and 20 pesos per kilo.
For their part, tenants in the poultry area of the Pino Suarez market stated that their sales have remained stable.
Beef: between 200 and 230 pesos per kilo
Pork: between 170 and 180 pesos per kilo
