MAZATLAN. – The Raspado Fair in Concordia returns this year with the preparation of its Giant Raspado, an activity that has already become a tradition in the southern region of Sinaloa.

Its third edition will be held on October 29 in Plazuela Morelos, starting at 11:00 a.m., and in addition to the preparation of raspado, there will be a gastronomic pavilion and live band music, attracting regional, national and international tourists, also local.

In the 2022 edition, the largest raspado in Concordia history was made in a barrel-style wooden glass 1.20 meters high, 60 centimeters in diameter with a capacity of 120 liters.

To make it, a Jaraba will be used made with 30 kilograms of plum, 30 kilograms of sugar slowly boiled with 10 jugs of water until it evaporates and concentrates, which will cover 120 kilograms of ice.

This fair, according to previous editions, generates an important economic benefit for Concordia, with the visit of more than 3 thousand visitors and an economic benefit of over 2 million 700 thousand pesos.

During the first festival in 2019, before the pandemic, the producers carried out a giant shave ice with about 66 liters of ice, 14 liters of syrup, seven liters of plum and seven of burnt milk, which was distributed for free to those present.
