The Casa del Marino project is already a reality in Mazatlan 

The bidding process for the executive project and the execution of the Casa del Marino work were carried out at the facilities of the Mazatlán City Hall. 

The director of Welfare and Social Development, Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez, stressed that this work consists of the rehabilitation of the Casa del Marino and leaving it ready for a museum. 

The work is for 50 million pesos, in a month the winning company will be announced to execute the project, the official added.  

Before the bidding, on July 18 and 19, the property was visited to carry out an architectural and engineering survey, with the participation of specialists from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). 

The Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), State Government and municipality, to define which areas can be rescued. 

This work is part of the Urban Improvement Program (PMU), promoted by the Federal Government in Mazatlán and which is distributed in two aspects, one the package of three community centers, which are in the Benito Juárez, Flores Magón and Urías neighborhoods. 

For these works the Government allocated 250 million pesos. 

The other aspect is the rehabilitation of the Casa del Marino. 

Also, the creatiuon of the Museum of the Sea, as well as the rescue of the tourist area. 

The authorities at all levels have followed all the steps attached to what the law establishes. 

The Casa del Marino project is already in the public open bidding stage throughout the country. 

When the winning company is announced, it will begin to execute the work this year, even if it ends in 2024, the official added.
