For AIFA to achieve its commercial profitability in the short term, one of the main pending issues is connectivity
Viva Aerobus inaugurated three new routes from the new Airport in Mexico City, Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) to Hermosillo, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Mazatlán.
A few days ago, Sonora and yesterday the first flights to the beaches of Guerrero and Sinaloa took off: key dates before the high summer season.
For the convenience of passengers, the route to Hermosillo offers four flights a week and the rest of the routes have two weekly frequencies. All these services are operated with a fleet made up of 75 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft with an average age of 5 years.
“We are always working to offer passengers more options to fly from this new and modern airport and we thank Viva Aerobus for its constant commitment to growing its network of routes for the direct benefit of travelers,” said General Isidoro Pastor, General Director of the AIFA.
According to the airline, these new routes are designed to meet the growing demand for air connectivity in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico with a proposal at low prices. Thus, Viva offers passengers the possibility of saving on their transport and having more resources to take advantage of at the destination, directly benefiting the economic benefits linked to the tourism and commercial sector.
“We expanded our operations in the new Mexico City Airport thinking about the convenience that our passengers find in being able to fly from different points of the Mexican capital with the best prices, the best service and we ratify our confidence in the potential of this airport” , affirmed Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus.
In this sense, the growth of the airline in this new capital airport stands out. A little over a year after its inauguration, Viva already has nearly 50 flights a week and ten routes at this airport. Flying to Acapulco, Cancun, Havana, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, Tijuana, Hermosillo, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Mazatlan.
