CONCORDIA.- The municipal capital of Concordia will be the goal of more than 250 cyclists who will come from the city of Durango throughout the Espinazo del Diablo in the Gran Fondo Sierra-Pacífico 2023.

The director of Tourism, Ricardo Vizcarra Lizárraga, mentioned that in addition to the participants, around 400 more people will attend, including relatives of the cyclists, the organizing committee and cycling fans, achieving a great economic benefit for the municipality.

“It will take place on July 27, 28 and 29, on the 27th and 28th they are practically a race that starts in Durango, they take it by stopwatch and on the 29th, when they go down from Mexiquillo to Concordia, it is recreational and free, with the goal that the end point of this event is our municipality”, he declared.

Vizcarra Lizárraga pointed out that this event is an important opportunity for the town, since there are already artisans interested in selling their products, as well as the characteristic gastronomy of the area, including the famous banana pie and shaved ice cream.

“The idea is that all the locals take out their products to sell, that there is an important spillover, because although the race happened here before, it is the first time that it has been achieved as the goal and the venue to receive everyone,” he said.

The event, he added, will be attended by expert cyclists from all the states of the country and from countries like France, with people who are looking for cycling venues with different challenges, that of this Gran Fondo, is the Espinazo del Diablo route, the free highway from Durango to Sinaloa.
