Sinaloa is a key point for investment in the restaurant industry

The national president of CANIRAC pointed out that the sector generates two million direct jobs, of which 58 percent are occupied by women

Mazatlán, Sin.- Sinaloa is strengthened in the flow of tourism, investment and is a key point for renowned restaurant chains to invest in the state.

The national president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry, Germán González Bernal, assured that the entity has the quality supply to continue consolidating the sector in the coming years.

And it is that for the industrial food and beverage sector throughout Mexico, the state represents the basket of high-quality products to be able to develop the kitchen and the service in restaurants, mainly in agricultural production and seafood.

“Sinaloa has grown in its economy and in all possible ways, which highlights its contribution to the restaurant industry in Mexico, not only for agricultural and fishing activity, but for being an attraction and investment destination,” he said when heading the national meeting of presidents of CANIRAC in Mazatlán.

González Bernal mentioned that the port has a growing, diverse, prepared industry with very good service.

He added that even though the national industry this year faces the challenge of inflation and the high cost of products, which they have faced with creativity, the numbers that were before the pandemic are recovered.

National statistics

Of every 100 businesses in the country, 12.2 percent are dedicated to the food and beverage industry, employing just over two million people, and generating almost 2 percent of the national Gross Domestic Product.

“Within the economic branches of the country we are also one of the main ones, it is located within the 23 most important activities and the most important thing is to dimension that in this industry 96 out of 100 are family businesses and there are almost 600 thousand units throughout the country, in addition to the fact that 58 percent of the industry’s force are women,” he said.
