The SSA and Coepriss seek that establishments comply with hygiene measures to prevent SARS-CoV-2.

The Ministry of Health, in coordination with the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks of Sinaloa (Coepriss), will recognize restaurants and fixed food establishments that meet the quality and hygiene standards considered by the Official Mexican Standard (NOM) 251-SSA1-2009.

In this regard, the head of the Coepriss, Luis Alonso García Corrales, explained that the commercial premises that adhere to said regulations will be entitled to the “Health Distinction”; with which it seeks to promote good hygiene practices and raise the quality standards of the services offered to Sinaloan consumers, in addition to encouraging healthy competition among merchants.

It has to do with the fact that we, as health and sanitation authorities, recognize that they comply with the quality and hygiene standards that the Mexican official norm 251 considers. This is an initiative in coordination with Coepriss, we will have to start with a campaign of socialization of the hand of the canirac; this is considered a good way to provide good hygiene practices and raise the quality standards of the services offered to Sinaloa consumers, as well as encourage healthy competition among merchants”

He added that said distinction, which will be public and voluntary registration by restaurant businessmen, will consist of three levels: Health “B”, Health “A” and Health “Gold”, the latter being awarded to those establishments that comply with 100% in terms of efficiency and quality that the Commission contemplates.

In addition, García Corrales stressed that the goal of the Ministry of Health and the body in charge of it is that, during the first year of application, all active restaurants are distinguished with the First Level and that, in the following 12 months, achieve the second level until reaching the “Gold” Health.

Finally, he announced that, in the coming days, meetings and press conferences will be held, headed by Cuén Ojeda and himself, in the northern, southern, and central areas of the state; in order to socialize the details of the program, in coordination with the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac).

It should be noted that this “Distintivo Salud” program, which on this occasion will be aimed at the restaurant sector, will later be extended to the hotel sector as well.
