Mazatlán, Sin.- The Ministry of Tourism will carry out a promotional campaign for Sinaloans to mobilize throughout the state and learn about the traditions of the communities.

The head of the SECTUR, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, stated that for Easter, in addition to sun and sand, tourists will be able to enjoy different activities aimed at the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

She explained that visitors will be able to visit Matatán, Malpica, Villa de Ahome, Tacuichamona and San Ignacio, where the representation of the Via Crucis is lived.

“The celebration that takes place in San Miguel Zapotitlán is something that they have to know, we are coordinating with the municipalities to be able to carry out more promotion of these events that belong to the Sinaloans,” she said.

Palacios Domínguez insisted that for the next vacation period, expectations are high, with 100 percent occupancy and an economic benefit of more than 1.7 billion pesos.

“We are looking forward to Easter, very positive, it will be very successful. Last year, to give you an idea, we were at 95 percent hotel occupancy and around 1.7 billion pesos in economic benefits were reported. This year we want to exceed that figure,” she expressed.

The head of the Sectur pointed out that the objective is to expand the tourist offer and that those who visit Mazatlán take advantage and get to know other beaches, but it is also wanted that the Sinaloan is a tourist in her own state.

She added that from north to south there are more than 20 beaches that are suitable for visits, such as La Reforma, Maviri, Topolobampo, Barras de Piaxtla, Celestino, Ceuta, El Caimanero, Teacapán and, of course, those of Mazatlán, which are historically the most visited.
