MAZATLAN. – If design and architecture are your thing, but also respect for green areas, then this information is special for you.
The Municipal Planning Institute launched the call to participate in a contest to improve a public space/green area in Mazatlán.
The objective is to encourage citizen participation in reflecting on the importance of public spaces for the city, through the presentation of proposals for urban interventions that dignify public spaces for coexistence, prioritizing the connection of the natural and urban environment, art and design with different users.
The proposals must be focused on the creation of urban furniture and/or installations consisting of fixed physical elements, essential for the best functioning of public spaces.
The bases
The contest is open to all people who wish to participate and who meet the following requirements:
– Be of legal age and a resident of the municipality of Mazatlán with an interest in revitalizing the public spaces of the city through creativity and design
– Participation may be individual or group. In the case of groups, the proposal must be registered in the name of one of its members
– Minors may participate as long as an adult is part of the group, who will be in charge of registering the proposal
– People who are part of the public administration or have a family relationship with the organizers may not participate
There will be only one winning proposal and it will be credited with $5,000.00 M.N., a recognition and the possibility of materializing their work with the authorship credit.
Proposal requirements:
– They must be original and unpublished, and may not have participated in other contests, nor have been previously exhibited to the public.
– Achievable with a maximum budget of $50,000.00 M.N. Constructible with durable materials (recycled, sustainable, ecological and other materials) and appropriate to the environment, so as to be a permanent work and usable by the inhabitants of the area.
Registration Requirements:
Select a park, street or public space that could be improved.
Only one proposal per team will be received, having to enter the contact information and location of the space to intervene in the following google form: Here.
The registration will be open from the publication of this call and until Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Once the registration is complete, Implan will evaluate the feasibility of the proposed site and inform the participants so that they can continue with their research and design process.
