A new call will be launched for all beer companies interested in acquiring the right for the exclusive sale of beverages during the Mazatlan International Carnival

MAZATLÁN.- The Municipal Institute of Culture declared void the bidding contest for the exclusive sale of beer during the festivities of the Mazatlán International Carnival 2023, to be held from February 16 to 21.

The information was released on Thursday, after a meeting held by the members of the Acquisitions, Leasing and Services Committee of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán, declared the National Public Tender No. IC – 001 void. /2022, since the economic proposal presented by the only applicant company (Cervecería Modelo de México, S. de R.L. de C.V.), did not meet the requirements indicated in the bases of the call.

The Chairman of the Acquisitions Committee, Raúl Rico González, stated that Cervecería Modelo de México offered an amount 33% less than last year, when it contributed 15 million pesos for the exclusivity right.

This year’s call establishes an amount of 16.5 million pesos considering inflation, but the brewery only offered 10 million plus 1 million for payment of talent.

This decision is based on article 48 of the Law on Acquisitions, Leases, Services and Administration of Movable Property for the State of Sinaloa, which states:

“The Secretariat and entities will proceed to declare a Tender void, when all the proposals submitted do not meet the requested requirements or the prices of all the goods, leases or services offered are not acceptable.”

Due to the above, the Cultural Acquisitions Committee agreed to launch a new call addressed to all beer companies interested in acquiring the right for the exclusive sale of their beverages during the upcoming Mazatlan Carnival festivities.
