Less than three months before the biggest party in Mazatlan, Raúl Rico, director of Culture, talks about the progress.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The International Carnival of Mazatlán 2023 will be held from February 16 to 21 and with just under three months to go before its start, the director of the Institute of CultureRaúl Rico, shares the progress of the maximum Mazatlan party.

“We are rebuilding the carnival proposal, we want to leave the ‘ Déjá Vú ‘ out of respect for the previous work, but give it a different derivation. We are going to go over 125 years, which would actually be 195, but it is 125 with the current format ” , said.

The idea, he added, is to rescue a little bit of the history of carnivals, but as a celebration, for example, paying homage to the QueensKings and characters from previous editions.

The director of the paramunicipal reported that nothing has yet been finalized with any artist to liven up the different coronations and until he has signed any document he will not advance anything in this regard. What he did mention is that the state government provided 10 million pesos to anticipate the construction of floats and the hiring of singers .

Floats

Regarding the elaboration of the allegorical floats, he commented that they have already met with some creators such as Ocean Rodríguez and the Lewis legacy, he will soon meet with Jorge Osuna.

González stressed that the previous administration left a debt with suppliers (creators of allegorical floats) for almost 20 million pesos, so it must first be seen how the artists are going to be paid.

It will not be until the theme is clearly defined, until the specifications of the real costumes are given, but he announced that Sodelva Ríos and Luis Antonio Ríos González “Momo” will be participating in the clothing, he also announced the return of Teresa Telles as designer, who highlighted the work done when it was the centenary of Carnival and in the year 95.
