The Mayor of Mazatlan announces a Security Council meeting prior to Carnival and AMLO’s visit
Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – To generate an economic spill that produces benefits for all sectors of the city, the Municipal Government invests in the celebration of the International Carnival of Mazatlan 2022, assured Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.
The Mayor mentioned that the Municipality does not win directly with the celebration of the maximum celebration of the Mazatlecos, but rather allocates resources to reactivate economic activities.
“The Government, I have told you many times, does not win with the Carnival, it loses, it always loses money, it is the town’s festival, the Government pays for it, but it is not to profit from the people. (…) We are going to lose the same, have a celebration, if you have a celebration in your house it costs, right?
He added that the objective of carrying out the celebration of the Carnival is so that the party generates an economic benefit of all sectors of Mazatlan society and for the fun of the citizens.
“It’s the businessman, the tourist, the restaurateur, the small merchants, the street vendors, those are the ones who win, that’s what the Carnival is for, so that they benefit, that they get a little profit and that the people have fun , because he deserves that and more after so much he has suffered”.
On the other hand, the Municipal President announced that the Security Council will meet here tomorrow to make decisions about the Carnival, as well as the details of the visit of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, scheduled for Sunday, this month.
