Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of the Mazatlán City Council, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, reported that, in his first work trip to Mexico City, he met with the heads of the Federal Sectur and the CDMX, Miguel Torruco and Paola Félix Díaz, respectively, with the aim of achieving synergy that benefits the beach destination.

“For us, like Mazatlán, Mexico City is a great area of ​​opportunity to begin to enter that market that, well, is undoubtedly the largest in the country, where they have quite interesting purchasing power,” he acknowledged.

Pity Velarde asserted that with good agreements it is possible to connect what is the history of Mexico City, with the culture and beaches of the city of Mazatlán.

“Several possibilities began to be raised to start working together and the next one is the Tourism Fair in Spain, where it is intended to achieve this foreign tourism that does not come for a week, comes for distances of 15 days and where it would be impressive if they begin to collaborate together, I think this can be achieved ”, he insisted.

The municipal official explained that the event they attended, where they took part in the Carnival festivities such as queens, band music, and floats, highlighted the participation of Mazatlán before more than a million spectators.

“Mazatlán has history, culture, gastronomy and it is part of what we have to start transmitting and one of the great markets in Mexico City,” he added.

He recognized that the synergy between the capital city and Mazatlán has already occurred because they will also be invited to the traditional Mazatlán Carnival.
