Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The seventh extraordinary session of the Municipal Civil Protection Council headed by Mayor Jesús Estrada Ferreiro, took place this Tuesday night, having as its main point the report of the work carried out by the Government of Culiacán before, during and after the passage of the tropical storm “Nora”, which left 1,112 houses affected, 6,512 victims and 178 citizens refugees in 5 shelters.
The municipal president highlighted the work and coordination that the municipal areas have had during this meteorological phenomenon that, although it has already lost strength, he asked not to trust because it could continue to generate rains in the municipality.
As for those affected, the mayor announced that they will receive support from tomorrow morning, but to continue helping them, he invited the public to contribute what they can through the Collection Centers in the Culiacán City Council, which will be called at different points this Wednesday.
“To support us with food, medicine, disposable diapers, clothes, canned food to take to those people who need it so much. In the case of the municipality it is difficult because we are not in collection times, now in September we will have a campaign, “he said.
On the other hand, according to information from Municipal Civil Protection, it was reiterated that the receiverships of Costa Rica, Quilá, Higueras de Abuya, Emiliano Zapata, Pueblo Unidos and Eldorado, were the ones with the most damage.
In the meeting of the Municipal Council of Civil Protection, the Secretary of Public Security Mauricio García also participated, who indicated that patrols in the syndicates will be reinforced to avoid acts of robbery because there are families that are still in shelters because they had damages in their homes.
