Mazatlan has good expectations for October; Expects American and Canadian snowbirds to return

For the December holiday season, an effort has been made for the arrival of American and Canadian charter flights and other foreign lines

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.– The president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Mazatlán, Carlos Berdegué Sacristán, trusted that the port will be restored with the season of arrival of American and Canadian tourists, for the month of October.

During the opening of Las Torres Avenue, Berdegué Sacristán commented that for the month of September during the national holidays, there is already 48 percent of reservations and it will easily reach 60 in hotel occupancy.

Regarding the season for the December holidays, he commented that an effort has been made for the arrival of American and Canadian charter flights and other foreign lines.

“It must come very well, it must come very strong, just not yet, but the fact that we are at a yellow traffic light helps a lot and it is a whole process which takes time, we are still on time, but it looks good,” he added.

In this sense, Víctor Vladimir Ramírez del Ángel, administrator of the Mazatlán International Airport, Rafael Buelna Tenorio, commented that there are good forecasts for flights for the month of October from Canada with a significant number of passengers.

“There are good expectations; out there we seem to bring the return of some flights from Canada, we hope that we can recover some frequencies from Canada just like United operates to Houston, “he said.

American and Canadian tourists of the so-called “snowbirds” will begin to arrive in Mazatlan, who have found in the port the ideal destination to vacation during the winter season.

Thousands of foreigners start arriving in October, the winter season for the “snowbirds  and it will last until the months of April and May.
