Carnival Cruise Line chose to eliminate less efficient ships from its fleet, including these two cruise ships
Through a statement on its official website, Carnival Cruise Line announced on September 16 the modification of its fleet and sail for certain ships, including Carnival Fascination and Carnival Imagination, which were put up for sale.
The above, because Carnival Corporation chose to accelerate the elimination of less efficient ships from its fleet, among which were the aforementioned; while Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration were sold in July, according to the company.
This is why both “Imagination” and “Inspiration” will not dock in the port of Ensenada in Baja California.
“While we are saddened to see Carnival Fascination and Carnival Imagination abandon our fleet, it is a necessary step as it allows us to focus on ships that offer the greatest variety of features and cabins for our guests,” said Christine Duffy, President of Line of Carnival cruises.
In turn, Carnival Cruise Line indicated that they hope to return to operations by 2021, at which time it will continue to operate with four improved Fantasy-class ships: Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Elation, and Carnival Paradise.
These ships “feature additional balcony staterooms, as well as upgraded dining and entertainment options that are part of the Fun Ship 2.0 upgrade program line,” they commented.
However, due to this improvement program, four ships have been affected with respect to their itineraries, which are the following:
“This prolonged pause in our operations has also affected the availability of the shipyards and we have had to reschedule the necessary dry docks. As we continue to work through issues related to our eventual return to operations, we are committed to providing our guests and travel agent partners with certainty where we can, although we regret that we have disappointed our guests. We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our guests and look forward to welcoming them back on board soon, ” said Duffy.
