The events occurred on Felipe Ángeles street, in the municipality of Progreso de Obregón, near the Lázaro Cárdenas elementary school.

At the site, in addition to tying the criminal to a post, the villagers hung a piece of cardboard around the man’s neck on which they wrote the phrase: “I’m a rat.”

During the detention, villagers reprimanded the subject, who – amid insults – warned “you’d better change.”

Subsequently, state agents indicated that the detainee was secured and sheltered in security facilities to make him available to the competent authority.
