Aeromexico inaugurates new routes to Cancun and Los Cabos

The Guadalajara International Airport, operated by the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), has celebrated the departure this Thursday of the new flights that Aeroméxico will be operating from the capital of Jalisco to Cancun and Los Cabos, as reported by REPORTUR.mx 

Aeroméxico will operate to and from Guadalajara seven flights a week on the Cancun route and five weekly flights on the Los Cabos route. Thanks to this, the airline will have an offer in this destination of more than 90 weekly flights, serving seven of the most important markets for Guadalajara: Mexico City, Tijuana, Monterrey, Cancun, Los Cabos, Los Angeles, and Chicago. 

“We know the great tourist value that these three destinations represent for Mexico, so today we celebrate these new routes that we are sure will contribute to the tourist recovery of our country,” said Giancarlo Mulinelli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Aeroméxico.

For his part, Germán Kotsiras Ralis Cumplido, Jalisco Secretary of Tourism, said that for the state the health of Jalisco has been a priority since the beginning of the pandemic so that in the gradual reactivation of tourism, strengthening of health protocols to continue advancing in strengthening the connectivity of their destinations.

“We are very pleased that Aeroméxico incorporates new routes to our capital, Guadalajara, which with direct flights from Los Cabos and Cancun will await visitors with good tequila and a traditional and modern tourist offer, and great connectivity to our 8 Magic Towns, Chapala and Puerto Vallarta, ”said the Jalisco secretary of tourism. 

Meanwhile, Raúl Revuelta, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico assured: “We are sure that the recovery and strengthening of air connectivity is a decisive factor for the reactivation of the tourism industry, and it is a pleasure for GAP to receive our friends from Aeroméxico in these routes of great relevance for Guadalajara ”. 

For his part, Darío Flota, director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo expressed his approval for the start of this flight that brings the people of Guadalajara closer to the Mexican Caribbean. “National tourism is one of our main strategic markets, so we are sure that the Guadalajara-Cancun route with Aeroméxico will be a success. Tourists who visit us will live unforgettable experiences with the highest safety and hygiene protocols in the Mexican Caribbean ”, said Flota. 

Finally, the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability of Baja California Sur, Luis Humberto Araiza López, said that it is essential for tourism to strengthen national air connectivity. “That Aeroméxico considers Los Cabos is a distinction that I am sure we will honor, because we have the first level tourist and human infrastructure, an exceptional nature and a high quality of our tourist services. We are pleased to welcome the new Aeroméxico flight on this important Guadalajara – San José del Cabo route, ”he said.

Recently Aeroméxico, as we published in REPORTUR.mx,  in front of Andrés Conesa, confirmed that an initial disbursement of US $ 100 million was authorized, which will provide liquidity to the airline.
