Mazatlán, Sinaloa.-” The summer is not over yet and the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Mazatlán is already working on promotional strategies for the winter”, Julio Birrueta said.
He stated that they are in meetings with companies in certain areas of the United States and Canada that traditionally maintain connectivity with Mazatlán, because without the restoration of flights, foreign tourism will hardly arrive.
He admitted that due to the health crisis affecting the whole world, Mazatlán will obviously not be able to obtain the same numbers of the 2019-2020 winter season.
Birrueta commented that fortunately American Airlines flights from Phoenix and Dallas have never stopped arriving at the destination, they only decreased their frequencies. While Alaska Airlines, from Los Angeles, has already restarted operations with health security protocols.
He pointed out that fortunately, the pandemic began practically when the low season of arrival of foreign tourism ended, so the effects were not so negative in this segment.
The hotel manager indicated that if the same number of flights from the previous season is reached, it will be super satisfactory, so the area lines must be monitored to see if they are going to return planes or make adjustments.
