Starting in June, people who receive deposits of more than five thousand pesos a month on their bank accounts must declare before the tax office where is the money coming from and why, since with this new tax reform they will be forced to pay taxes.

For this reason, the Jalisco state congress will begin with courses and workshops for citizens and in particular the drivers of digital platforms such as Didi and Uber, since they are one of the main groups identified as not declaring taxes legally.

“Any person who receives money through bank accounts or bank deposits to debit or credit cards will have to pay taxes because if they exceed a certain amount as a deposit in those accounts they will have to declare fiscally and if they don’t, they will have legal consequences, not only administrative but criminal too, as it will be considered as tax evasion and this administration has cataloged it as a serious crime, “said representative Jonadab Martínez.

This tax reform requires that any person have a salary or not, must declare, and ignoring this provision will be considered as an act of penalization.

“This reform includes three articles in the law on income: article 113, 113 b and 113 c, where it says that natural persons who are engaged in activities such as transportation of passengers or food, must pay taxes. IN the case of online platforms, the taxes are going to be withheld from their annual tax, ” said Martínez.

The representative stated that they will seek to extend the dates of the workshops and trainings, in addition to those already scheduled, due to the demand of the citizens that want to know about this procedure.
