Inmate dies at Mazatlan’s “El Castillo”

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (May 2, 2020).- The Sinaloa Ministry of Public Security reports on the death of an inmate, who was imprisoned at the “El Castillo” Penitentiary Center, in Mazatlán.

According to information confirmed by the Ministry of Health, it was determined that the cause of death was pulmonary tuberculosis.

SSP pointed out that the person presented symptoms similar to those of the COVID-19 coronavirus, so he was admitted to the Mazatlán General Hospital where, on Saturday May 2nd, he finally passed away.

The Ministry of Public Security issued this press release, in order to avoid speculation about the causes that led to the unfortunate death of this person.
