The president of the Union of Shipowners of the Pacific Ocean Coast, Jesús Omar Lizárraga Manjarrez said that a study of the biomass must be conducted, it is extremely important for the shrimp fishery industry.
He explained that it is necessary that the National Fisheries Institute do the research to determine when to close the shrimp season, so that the necessary reproduction time is respected.
He acknowledged that the investigative work carried out by Inapesca is very good, but the lack of surveillance and protection by Conapesca is evident.
Finally, Lizárraga Manjarrez reiterated that due to budget cuts and the negative results obtained last season, the situation expected for the sector this year is worrying.
