Canadian couple drifting at sea rescued by Mexican Navy

Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR) personnel based in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, assisted two Canadian citizens whose sailboat was drifting at sea.

The Secretary of the Navy of Mexico (Semar) reported that the foreigners were sailing on the sailboat “Sea Esta X”, and during their trip, mechanical failures came up.

Therefore, naval personnel located the ship at 51 nautical miles (more than 94 kilometers) ), north of Mazatlan, after receiving the report of the company “Marina de Yates Cortes”, based in La Paz Baja California Sur, warning of the delay of that particular sailboat, which sailed out of La Paz on December 25th, 2019, with destination Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

After the location, the sailboat was towed to port, and there personnel of the naval health service made the medical assessment of the two crew members, finding them in good health.
