Venezuelan airline Conviasa claims new flights to Mexico

The Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services ( Conviasa ) announced its plan to connect national and international flights, it highlights the Caracas-Mexico service, however, the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) has not approved any slots for the airline.

According to the official website of the Mexican airport, in the section of Assignment of historical slots for the Winter 2019 season, international airlines such as Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Avianca, Alitalia, Cathay Pacific, and even Cuban Aviation stand out , that does not operate a regular flight to Mexico City since May 2018. However, the Venezuelan airline Conviasa does not appear.

“We invite the Venezuelan people to be part of our expansion plan, today we are starting the presale of our inaugural flight that will take place in November from Caracas-Mexico, which will have two frequencies, ” the group said in a statement.

In the growth plan, Ramón Velásquez, president of the Venezuelan airline, announced the revival of long-range services such as Russia, China, Turkey, Uruguay, Italy, and the Middle East, which would be implemented in an Airbus 340-200 with capacity for 286 passengers.

For this month, Conviasa plans flights to Venezuela – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as Manaus.
