Growing interest of foreign tourists to reside in Mazatlan

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- “The growing tourism and real estate development that Mazatlan has registered lately, has aroused the interest of American, Canadian and European tourists to come and settle in this destination”, said Astrid Macías Fregoso, director of the Tourist Assistance and Protection Center (Centro de Asistencia y Protección al Turista: CAPTA).

She revealed that more and more visitors are requesting information on how to be able to settle down in the port of Mazatlan. Mostly people from the United States, Canada, Spain, but also from countries such as Argentina or Australia, who like to practice cycling as a hobby.

That is why the attractions such as the Malecón cycleway, the public bicycle system, Chilo and the newly announced projects at the municipal level, raise their interest to a great extent.

“In this summer holiday period, we have attended many foreign people who want to live in Mazatlan, who have asked information on how to acquire a home here,” declared Astrid Macías Fregoso

Macías Fregoso explained that the CAPTA personnel listen to these people´s inquiries, provide them with the best possible advice on how to purchase property in Mazatlan.

“They always look for us of for the Ministry of Tourism and we support them with some translations, we give some recommendations and in some cases, send them with real estate experts in Mazatlan,” Astrid Macías Fregoso continued.

The director of CAPTA made a call to all Mazatlecos to maintain a smile for visitors, given the financial benefits that tourism grants to the city, as one of the main economic activities.
